First day of school. Woo. Actually it sucked. Getting there was a huge pain in the ass, it was the freakin' Exodus from Egypt TO Cal Poly. Retarded. Class was boring (but it was EE... so surpise) I found out that book is going to cost an insane $140!!!!! Then I went to work, and it was just really stressing today. Then I went to choir, which was fun. Oh, and then... the grand daddy of all. I tried to register my PDA so I could get on the wireless at school. Shouldn't be a problem, right? "Do you have anti-virus?" they ask. No, of course not. It's a PDA! A concept virus was released like 2 months ago. I'm sure there might be a couple new ones since then. I do however doubt that an army of zombie PDAs is really going to cause any sort of security risk. Further, they didn't know anything at all about anti-virus software for PDAs other than it may or may not exist and the bookstore may or may not sell it in the future. If you're going to have a stickly ass policy on something you may as well know what the fuck you're talking about. GAH! I hate it when misinformed people are put in charge! I understand the policy; things to be put on the campus network must have anti-virus software installed. Could we think a bit on how to apply the rule though? GAH!!!!!
